Shekinah Dare

Dr. Dare completed her master’s degree in Economics and Business cum laude at the Erasmus University Rotterdam in June 2012. She also received her Pedagogical Certificate with highest honors at the Foundation Curaçao Academy in June 2015. She furthermore obtained her PhD in Social and Behavioral Sciences at Leiden University in November 2022.

From August 2012 to October 2013, she worked as an advisor in the Corporate Finance department of KPMG Dutch Caribbean. Since October 2013, she has been working at the Central Bank of Curaçao and Sint Maarten, where she has held several positions. First, as an economist and researcher in the Research department, then as a supervisor and coordinator of financial education programs in the Conduct Supervision department, and currently as head of the Data & Statistics department. She is moreover affiliated with the Knowledge Centre Psychology and Economic Behavior in the Netherlands.

On a voluntary basis, she supervises bachelor and master students with their research projects and provides guest lectures. In her spare time, she spends time with family and friends and enjoys writing, swimming, dancing, and singing.
