Ramses Petronia works at the Bureau for Intellectual Property of Curaçao (BIP) as a legal expert and as a guest lecturer at the faculty of engineeering of the University of Curaçao. Besides being responsible for the copyright section at BIP, other areas of his work include informing the public about the services of BIP, including trademark registration and patent application, giving advice on these topics, and drafting legislation in the field of intellectual property (IP). Ramses Petronia has an LLM in Dutch law, with a specialization in international law, of the University of Utrecht, and an MA in New Media and Digital Culture of the University of Amsterdam, and has successfully completed courses including (American) patent law at the University of Florida and distance learning courses in several other areas of intellectual property law through the World Intellectual Property Organization.
